John Lee Homicide -
Southern Stylings Twisted with Rock

John Lee Homicide began in 1993. After many gigs and lots of years of practice in the basement, it became clear we needed to make a disk and get out into the world.

We took our material to a local studio we trusted and spent the cash. What an experience! Anyway we look forward to seeing you on the road!

Please feel free to pass on any comments you may have about the music, we certainly appreciate any input from our fans

This summer you will be seing more of us, so we'll keep you posted. We are currently looking for other bands to open for. John Lee Homicide is willing to travel and would welcome the opportunity to gain exposure if the chance arises. If you think John Lee Homicide would be a good fit, please call 616-560-4666, we'd love to hear from you.

John Lee Homicide - Usual Suspects

Jason VerVeer - Lead Guitar

The oldest of the VerVeer brothers, Jason has played guitar for nearly fifteen years. He works in private security where he utilizes his Wing Chung education. Some day he hopes to travel the Orient as well as begin teaching Martial Arts on his own.
Jason spends his time weight training and expanding his tattoo collection.

Jackson Martin - Guitar / Saxophone

Jackson was the fourth member to join ten plus years ago, first as the saxophonist and later to become the rhythm guitar player. He met the VerVeers through Steve Patterson one summer long ago, and the rest is history. The four members of John Lee Homicide began playing parties and small local bars. Jackson has a Web and print design company called Bottown, and manages a local plastics plant. Jackson is married but has no children to speak of, at least not yet.

Steve Patterson - Bass Guitar

Steve Patterson came to Michigan when he was still a teenager. Soon after arriving he met Jason and Matt VerVeer, and it was only a matter of time 'til the band took hold. Originally from Arkansas, hence his nick-name, Steve enjoys hunting and the outdoors. Steve is married with children and resides near the Detroit area. Even though Steve's main instrument is the bass guitar, he still seems to play a mean slide guitar. His main influences would have to be the Allman Brothers and Alen Woody.

Jeremy VerVeer - Vocals / Percussion / Bass

The youngest of the VerVeer brothers, Jeremy was the last to join the band, now five years ago. He runs a local pawn shop and enjoys horror movies and recording his own music. His main influences reside in the punk genre. Not only does Jeremy play percussion but he also writes some of John Lee Homicide's material.

Matt VerVeer - Drums

The middle of the VerVeer brothers, Matt began playing drums with his older brother, Jason, many years ago in their Rockford basement. Matt is a tattoo artist in the Grand Rapids area, and enjoys spending his time creating his own tattoo art. Matt hopes to open his own tattoo shop and start doing meaningful work, rather than the mill type of flash that plagues the common tatoo artisan.
